Tai Chi Chi Gong: The Health Benefits for Body and Mind
Tai Chi Chi Gong, also known as Taiji Qigong
On April 29, 2018, a practical Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) seminar was held in the city of Plovdiv, conducted by Ovanes Budakyan. He has extensive experience in Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) accumulated over the years both abroad and in Bulgaria. He shares his experience with great joy with all the participants in the seminar.
The seminar began with the Qi Gong complex, which helps to warm up all joints and ligaments, starting from the upper part of the body and descending downwards, resulting in the relaxation of all muscles. This aids in the complete relaxation of the body, as well as in loosening it if there were any tensions. Another benefit of this Qi Gong complex is that, due to the movements performed in a specific way, it greatly helps in reducing stress and removing blockages throughout the body, promoting blood circulation and providing a sense of freedom to the body. Last but not least, it provides a good preparation to start Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) training in such a way that you can derive the highest benefits from the practice.
During the seminar, the basic principles of Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) and how practitioners can apply them during the execution of Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) movements were explained. All attendees were acquainted with these techniques and the methods for their application, as well as how each individual could derive maximum benefit from them. Some of the most important principles in Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) practice were listed and explained.
The 9-position form was also taught, with explanations of the movements and how each movement embodies the principles of Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan). Participants learned how to distinguish between authentic Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) and breathing exercises.
Techniques for self-defense were also taught - principles upon which these techniques are based, what is involved in these techniques. Everyone had the opportunity to personally try and see for themselves the effectiveness of these combat applications from Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan). Participants learned how to conduct their daily Tai Chi (Tai Ji Quan) practices in the most correct way to derive the greatest benefit for themselves from them. The seminar concluded with time for questions and clarifications regarding the principles, movements, and applications.
